Spore App
Spore will make scheduling fun.

Studies show nearly half of U.S. adults report measurable loneliness, and one in five feel lonely on a daily basis. People are spending 25% more time alone and 60% less time socializing than they did 20 years ago. This isn’t just a personal problem; it’s a cultural one. Spore will be the first app to turn scheduling into a social platform with a live feed. Unlike traditional meetup tools, Spore's unique features will break through the barriers of coordination and indecision by making planning efficient.

The Problem
Social networking has lost its purpose. Today’s platforms focus on photos and videos instead of real human connection. Most people aren’t influencers and just want to hang out. Yet making spontaneous plans is hard with slow replies, busy schedules, and the awkwardness of direct invites.

Spore changes that. It shows what your friends and mutuals want to do in the moment, so you can join in when it fits your life. Because the future of social networking isn’t about content, it’s about connection.

Spore Feed
A live, interactive feed where users post what they want to do — from grabbing coffee to finding a last-minute tennis partner. Each post is time-sensitive and designed to make spontaneous plans simple. Instead of endless scrolling, users see real activities happening in real time.

Submissions Module (Private Requests)
When someone posts on the feed, others can privately submit interest in joining. The host then chooses who they want to include from the list of submissions. This keeps planning private and pressure-free, removing the awkwardness of public invites or rejections.
Group Creation + Incognito Mode
Users can create specific groups for different parts of their lives — friends, coworkers, or local communities. Incognito Mode gives full control over visibility, letting users share posts only with select groups. It’s a simple way to keep personal and professional circles separate.

Smart Calendar Integration
Each user has an integrated calendar that reflects their availability. Friends and mutuals can easily plan around each other’s free time, cutting out the hassle of back-and-forth scheduling or messaging multiple people to coordinate.
AI Suggestions
Spore’s built-in AI helps users craft the perfect post when they’re not sure what to do or how to phrase it. Whether it’s suggesting activities nearby, tailoring ideas to your interests, or writing your post for you, the AI makes planning effortless and engaging.

Promotions Page
A dedicated page showcasing exclusive business deals, discounts, and local events. Users can take advantage of nearby promotions while planning activities, helping businesses drive engagement and giving users more reasons to say yes to plans.

Founder Story
After the passing of my partner in 2023, I went through a period of deep loneliness and grief. Even though I’m an extrovert with plenty of friends who were there for me, my unpredictable schedule made it hard to line up last-minute plans. I’d text people, wait hours, and by the time anyone got back to me, the day was basically over. This wasn’t anyone’s fault. That’s just how things are in big cities, especially for people in my generation. I started to realize there had to be a more efficient way to spontaneously plan and connect with people. Living in Los Angeles, I see how much Spore could make life easier.

As an actor who’s also worked in service jobs, I move between different communities and friend groups, seeing Spore’s potential in each one. Actors could find scene partners or help with auditions, co-workers could swap shifts or plan after work, and friends/family can schedule meetups efficiently without messaging multiple people and enduring the downtimes.
I have a B.A. in Game Design, I’m a published Game Director, and I have experience in digital marketing. I’m not that technical and I don’t know much about business, but I wanted to make something I genuinely believe people need. Spore began as a personal fix for feeling disconnected, and it can grow into something that makes everyday connection easier for everyone.
